The mild winter weather will continue through the weekend, and a burst of rain expected Saturday should die down in time for the Seahawks game, says KPLU weather expert Cliff Mass.
Friday will be “a decent day” with a few sprinkles, cloudy skies and temperatures reaching 50, says Mass.
“The strong front that was through last night is now way into eastern Washington. So actually it’s relatively dry all across western Washington right now, just a few showers up in the North Cascades,” Mass said Friday.
Come Saturday, a strong front will move through the region with rain hitting hard around 8 a.m.
“It’ll move in and it’s going to be wet tomorrow. And in fact, it gets wetter as you go further south,” Mass said, adding temperatures will only reach the upper 40s.
But Mass says that system will move through Sunday morning, bringing relatively mild weather for Seahawks players and fans alike.
“Sunday — so the big day, when people are worried about the game — I think it’ll be scattered showers. I don’t think it’ll be heavy, continuous rain. But there will be some showers around, so people should expect that,” Mass said. There won’t be a big storm, but we will see lots of clouds and temperatures in the upper 40s.
Monday and Tuesday, Mass says a small ridge of high pressure is expected to move in and push out any lingering rain, drying us out as we start the work week.
