Sound Effect Senior Producer Arwen Nicks lays out local artist and prankster Derek Erdman’s scheme to watch "Singles", a classic grunge film from the 1990s, in the courtyard of the apartment building where it was filmed.
Erdman had a TV, the original VHS film, and a guest list that numbered in the hundreds, but he did not have permission. It was a polarizing ploy that snowballed into a larger debate about neighborly courtesy and access to a piece of Seattle's cultural history.
