LONG BEACH, Wash. — The Pacific County sheriff's office says a small dock that washed ashore on the Long Beach Peninsula appears to be more tsunami debris.
Chief Criminal Deputy Pat Matlock says it was reported Tuesday evening by a beachcomber about 5 miles north of the town of Long Beach.
It was reported to the state Ecology Department, and a sheriff's deputy checked it out.
Matlock says it's a wooden dock about the size of a small truck. He says there are tires on the side for fenders but nothing to specifically indicate it's from Japan. Light bulbs and other debris in the area are presumed to be tsunami debris.
