A new two-story home is under construction near the Space Needle at the Seattle Center.
Called the "House of the Immediate Future," it's part of the "Next 50" anniversary celebration of the 1962 Seattle World's Fair.
In contrasts to futuristic gizmos featured at the world's fair, the four-bedroom home demonstrates energy-saving features such as extra insulation and triple-paned windows.
The 1,400-square-foot home is being built largely with volunteer labor for Habitat for Humanity. It will be moved to a south Seattle development.
The Seattle Times reports the house will be the home for the family of a 43-year-old nursing assistant who is putting in 400 hours of sweat equity.
