You will hear from the man himself in this interview, Porter went to college on a football scholarship to San Diego State, but a shoulder injury in his first season caused him to reconsider what his future might hold.
This gave him the opportunity to focus on his other love, singing jazz.
Between songs he talks about what inspires his songwriting, the influence his parents had over his musical direction and what it’s like for a native-born Californian to immerse himself in the Brooklyn/Harlem jazz worlds.
Songs:
- Liquid Spirit
- Be Good
- On My Way To Harlem
