Christian McBride, The Westerlies And More On Jazz Northwest

R.Andrew Lepley

Jazz Northwest is our weekly survey of the regional jazz scene Sunday afternoons at 2.  We sample the rich variety of resident and visiting artists who will be performing in the near future and we visit local venues with live, on-location recordings.

This week, we'll hear The Westerlies, Christian McBride's Big Band, Dina Blade in Brazil, Jared Hall's new CD and more.  Christian McBride is guest artist with the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra on June 17 and 18 in Seattle and Kirkland. He is also host of the NPR program Jazz Night in America heard Friday nights on KNKX.

Jazz Northwest is produced by host Jim Wilke and is heard each Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. Pacific on 88.5 KNKX and knkx.org.  After broadcast programs  are archived and may be streamed at jazznw.org.   Next week we'll bring you excerpts from a concert by the Sam Boshnack Quintet at The Seattle Art Museum.
