UW researchers discover way to forecast harmful algal blooms

Harmful algal blooms often shut down ocean fisheries and recreation. They can pose threats to people, marine mammals and the environment. And they’re becoming more frequent. Researchers at the University of Washington have discovered a way to forecast them, up to three days in advance.
