The Town of Friday Harbor on San Juan Island says a fire that burned through a block of businesses last week was intentionally set. Four businesses -- Herb’s Tavern, Crows Nest Coffee Shoppe, Crystal Seas Kayaks and the Windermere Real Estate -- were destroyed. No injuries were reported.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department arrested a 38-year-old man on suspicion of arson Tuesday in relation to a fire set at the Islamic Center of Tacoma earlier this month. The news comes as the center begins worship in a temporary home at Tacoma Community College.
