Video: A stirring time-lapse of Pacific Northwest scenes
Northwest photographer John Eklund spent a year-plus gathering the shots to create this time-lapse video (below) of iconic places in the Pacific Northwest.
“Some scenes took all night and several tries until I was happy with the shot,” he said in an email exchange.
Eklund lives in Portland, Ore., and has been doing landscape photography since 2008. He said he’s been at time-lapse photography since 2011.
Locations for the video include Mt. Shuksan, Crater Lake, Mt. Bachelor, Mount St. Helens, Oregon's Badlands, Painted Hills, Cape Kiwanda, Mt. Hood, Lost lake, and Cannon Beach.
“I took approximately 260,000 images. I used 6.3 TB of hard drive space,” Eklund wrote on his Vimeo video page, which also includes technical details of the equipment he used.
