Two new Latin Jazz recordings to anticipate!

To be released this spring (date TBD): Gonzalo Rubalcaba's Volcan

This band is comprised of musical masters, experienced bandleaders and good friends:  Jose Armando Gola-bass, Horacio “El Negro” Hernandez-drums, Giovanni  Hidalgo-congas and Gonzalo Rubalcaba-piano.

"The volcano incorporates the four elements of nature:  Earth, Air, Wind and Fire....the volcano reminds us of the goals we aspire to, the ensuing  journey and the value of the climb to the summit."

Released in Europe early May, release in US this summer:  Chucho Valdez and the Afro-Cuban Messengers Border Free

Chucho's new recording features guest Branford Marsalis and Chucho's own brand of fusion:  Afro-Cuban plus jazz plus new inspirations like the music of the North American Indians and of the Arab-Andalusian culture.

"I wondered if it was true that as you got older your desire to listen to music would die. Well, look at me; I'm about to turn 69 and, for me, that is all a lie. I am the same; my passion for learning and discovering things has even increased. Music never ends." --Chucho Valdes, 2010 interview allaboutjazz.com
