Teuber-Johnson Duo Concert At Seattle Art Museum

Two of Seattle's best improvising jazz musicians teamed up for the May Art of Jazzconcert at The Seattle Art Museum.  Acoustic bass player Jeff Johnson and saxophone/flute player Hans Teuber have been individually featured in numerous ensembles. They've also collaborated on several albums including the newly issued duo CD "Deuce" on Origin Records.  For this concert at SAM, they played a variety of freely improvised music and standards including several selections from the new CD.

The long-running monthly Art of Jazz concert series at SAM is part of the museum's public programs and is presented without charge on the second Thursday of each month from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. John Gilbreath of Earshot Jazz is the musical coordinator.   Next month's concert will depart from the usual schedule. Mercedes Nicole will sing on the first Thursday, June 7.  July and August concerts will be outdoors at the Olympic Sculpture Park on the second Thursday.
