TACOMA, Wash. — An eviction notice tells Occupy Tacoma demonstrators to clear out by Sunday afternoon. The encampment recently made international news when GOP presidential hopeful Rick Santorum spoke at a nearby venue and was "mic checked," apparently by members of the Occupy movement there.

The camp at Pugnetti Park is on land owned by the state Transportation Department, and spokeswoman Lisa Copeland says it's a liability issue. Eviction notices were posted Thursday.

As the Bellingham Herald reported last week, Santorum was met with chants almost as soon as he started talking. Protesters chanted "We are the 99 percent," while some of Santorum's supporters chanted "USA."

CBS reported that two protesters were arrested and a third one was arrested later after she threw glitter on Santorum as he shook hands with supporters

The News Tribune says about 20 campers remain at the park from the demonstration that began in October.
