A sex offender accused of breaking into a house in Seattle's University District and threatening six women with a knife would face a life sentence if convicted of the latest charges.
Robert D. Hitt is charged with burglary, robbery and kidnapping with sexual motivation, which makes the 34-year-old subject to Washington's "two strikes" law for repeat sexual offenders.
The Seattle Times reportshe pleaded not guilty Wednesday at his arraignment.
He had been released from prison in January after serving time for a 2001 rape in the University District. He was classified a Level 2 sex offender.
Police say he broke into a home early March 5 and held six women at knifepoint, forcing one to undress. Another roommate who was hiding called 911. Hitt is held without bail.
