A new cable reality show features rugged Northwesterners tromping through the region’s beautiful landscapes in search of Sasquatch.
Spike TV threw together big-game hunters, dedicated Big Foot aficionados called “squatchers” and animal-loving pro photographers. The new eight-week reality show on SpikeTV is called “10 Million Dollar Big Foot Bounty,” and comes, as the name suggests, with a $10 million prize. It premiers Friday.
New York University’s Todd Disotell signed on to be the show’s lead scientist. He says he taught contestants to properly collect DNA samples.
“To see all these people, some of whom are rough mountain men and women kind of people, following these very strict protocols was great,” Disotell said.
The show’s producers filmed for about a month near Goldendale, Washington in Gifford Pinchot National Forest and at Brooks Memorial State Park, along with parts of northern California.
