Metro buses will be running on snow routes Monday. It's a precautionary measure due to the threat of snow. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory, warning of possible snow accumulations during the day on Monday of one to three inches from southwest Washington northward, perhaps as far as Seattle and Everett.

Metro's general manager Kevin Desmond made the call to run buses on snow routes Sunday evening. In a statement, Desmond advised riders to check their particular bus service, as not all lines have alternate snow schedules:

When buses are on snow routing, some streets and bus stops may be missed and there are often delays due to travel conditions. There is new snow routing in many areas that is different from past years, so be sure to check the snow routes for all the routes you use most often.

Two Sound Transit routes are also affected Monday. You can find out more about Metro routes at www.kingcounty.gov/metro.
