Autumn is creeping up on the northwest, but KPLU weather expert Cliff Mass says we’ll keep one foot–or at least a few toes–in summertime over the coming week.
Rain was falling early Friday offshore and over parts of eastern Washington, with western Washington nestled in the dry spot in between. Mass says variable clouds and cooler weather Friday will give way to some real overcast skies at the weekend’s start.
“[Saturday] will probably be the worst day of the weekend,” says Mass.
Look for things to improve a bit on Sunday with dry weathand temperatures in the mid-70s. But then early next week the outlook starts to deteriorate, as an offshore trough deepens and moves in.
“It looks like Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will not only have a lot of clouds, but probably the best chance of getting some light rain showers over the entire area, which we haven’t seen very much of for at least two months," says Mass.
Later in the week, things should dry out once again, giving some that summertime hasn’t drifted away just yet.
