DEER PARK, Wash. — A pack of dogs blamed for killing about 100 pets and farm animals in northeastern Washington state has been eliminated.
The Stevens County Sheriff's Office said three of the dogs in the pack have been killed.
A turkey hunter has reported killing one dog on May 28 when he was charged by the pack. Two other dogs were killed by a land owner over the weekend. The land owner had lost domestic animals in the dog attacks.
Undersheriff Lavonne Webb said the dogs killed by the hunter and landowner match pictures of the pack dogs that were taken at one of the incidents. The killings started in late March and have occurred in a wide area of mountains and valleys west of Deer Park, a small town about 40 miles north of Spokane.
