WHAT'S A HAIKU?

A haiku is a 17 syllable verse form in three lines of five, seven, and five syllables, respectively.  The opening lyric to Moonlight in Vermont, a hit song with lyrics that don’t rhyme,  is a haiku:

Pennies in a stream Falling leaves of sycamore Moonlight in Vermont.

HOW DO I ENTER?

  • Write a haiku that mentions anything to do with food, eating, cooking & etc –  even the Food for Thought feature itself.
  • Then post it below just as you would a comment (if you are commenting as a 'guest' please make sure to include your email address so we can contact you once winners have been decided).
  • Enter as many different haikus as you like.
