Ex-Seattle school official pleads not guilty 

A man accused of taking money from a Seattle School District program pleaded not guilty Thursday to theft charges. KOMO Radio reports Silas Potter remains in jail following his arraignment. Potter was arrested last month at Tampa, Fla., and moved on Dec. 8 to the King County Jail. Potter had headed a school district program designed to assist minority-owned businesses in Seattle. He and two co-defendants are accused of taking $250,000. Co-defendants David Anthony Johnson and Lorrie Kay Sorensen pleaded not guilty last month at their arraignment.
