A mostly cloudy scenario is in store this weekend, with rain only coming into the picture late Sunday and cooling mostly holding off till then too. So if you like grey skies and mild temps, it’s a great time to get outdoors.
“Today is going to be a perfect day for anything,” says Cliff Mass of Friday’s mix of sun and clouds.
“Temperatures are going to get up into the low 60s in many places away from the water — very nice day, plenty of sun, a few high clouds,” he said, summarizing it as “a spectacular spring day.”
Mixed Saturday
He says there will be some high clouds coming in on Saturday with a few sprinkles. “But nothing heavy,” Mass said. “Temperatures will get into the upper 50s, maybe 60, so not a bad day, but not quite as perfect” as on Friday.
Transition Day Sunday
Expect a disturbance in the spring-like atmosphere on Sunday. “We’ll see a lot of clouds that day, sprinkles in the morning and then heavier rain’s going to come in during the afternoon and evening.
“So that’s going to be a real front – you’ll know that,” he said.
“And certainly by the end of the day on Sunday there will be some moderate precipitation moving through,” Mass said. “So that will wet your garden a bit.”
Workaday Gray On Monday And Tuesday
Mass says it looks like there will be clouds and light rain as most folks head back to work next week. It’s quite a contrast to the big storm last weekend that knocked out power for thousands, devastated dozens of homes and killed one man whose car was hit by a falling tree in Seward Park.
“So nothing severe like we saw last weekend,” Mass says of the weekend ahead, which for him means a bit boring.
“A pretty blah weekend, just a little bit of rain at the end.”
