Boeing tech workers approve contract on re-vote

Boeing technical workers have overwhelmingly approved a new four-year contract in a re-vote tallied Monday night.

In a Feb. 19 vote, the 7,200 workers had rejected the offer, which replace pensions with a 401 (k) retirement plan for new hires.

In that earlier vote, 15,500 Boeing engineers represented by the same union had voted to accept a contract offer with the same pension provision.

While engineers and technical workers bargain at the same time, the contracts are separate and independent agreements.

Boeing spokesman said the company was pleased with the technical workers' decision.
